The Portrait Commission Process
Creating your custom portrait is a collaborative and thoughtful process designed to ensure the final piece feels personal, meaningful, and beautifully true to its subject.
1. After You Order
Once your order is placed, I’ll personally reach out via email within 48 hours. I’ll ask you to send a high-quality reference photo and—if you’ve chosen the monochromatic option—any preferences you might have for the color palette.
2. Choosing the Palette & Composition
If you’ve selected a monochromatic portrait, I’ll send a sample color palette for your approval based on your photo and the tone you'd like the piece to convey. For full-color portraits, no palette selection is needed.
I’ll also provide a preview of how the image will be cropped to best suit the composition, so you’ll have a clear vision of the final layout before I begin.
3. Painting Your Portrait
Once I have your approval on both the palette (if applicable) and the cropping, I’ll begin your portrait using soft pastels on sanded paper. Each piece is created with care, layered with delicate detail, and sealed for protection.
4. Shipping & Delivery
Your finished portrait will be shipped flat within 3 weeks of final approval. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as it’s on its way.
If you’ve chosen the framing add-on, please allow an additional 2 weeks for custom framing before shipment. Your piece will arrive ready to hang, safely packaged with all the love and intention it deserves.
